The
Travel Doctor Associate
The Associate option for general practice allows
interested medical practices to enhance and promote
the delivery of travel medicine within their own
practice, in association with The Travel Doctor Group.
The Travel Doctor (TMVC) has been providing high quality
travel medicine services in Australia and New
Zealand and South East Asia since the mid 1980’s. In
the last few years it has developed a number of strategic
relationships overseas which allow for better communications
and services to the corporate sector. Busy general
practitioners, seeing a significant proportion of travelling
patients require access to up-to-date travel health information
and best value travel health products. I feel the Travel
Doctor Associate option meets these needs.
General practices that choose to become a Travel Doctor
Associate receive:
Either
Their own general practice version of Walkabout
2000© ver 3.1, a fully computerised Travel
Medicine Clinic Management system - the only data base
designed and developed in Australasia, for travellers
and their doctors.
This program provides important information for the
medical practitioner and traveller including relevant
destination information, current vaccination and
malaria prophylaxis recommendations and Foreign Affairs
"Travel Advisories".
Updated on a regular basis, Walkabout 2000©
ver 3.1allows the medical practitioner to provide
country-specific health risk printouts on the spot as
well as instantly generate all their travel health
requirements.
Walkabout 2000© ver 3.1 has a number of
innovative features to help the physician promote his/her
expertise in the field of travel medicine while at the
same time providing a permanent travel record on all
their travelling patients.
The database also allows you to track your travelling
patients and be part of a TMVC group research
project. This enhances excellence of service and
provides an opportunity for primary care practitioners
to be involved in many aspects of public health
research. A post travel component will be available
in version 4 of the programme.
Or
