Location:

Ancaster, a small town adjacent to the city of Hamilton in Southwestern Ontario.

Parking:

Free parking is available on site.

Staff:

Dr Mike Stephenson.

A graduate of Otago University, New Zealand, he is a Family Practitioner , coordinator of the Community Based Residency Program in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton and > involved in Travel medicine since 1992.

Carol Wingfield:

Is the practice nurse and has been involved in Travel Medicine since joining the practice.

Ann-Marie Gibson

Is the receptionist and books all appointments and gives directions etc.

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday 9:00am to 12:00pm, 1:30pm to 5:00pm
  • Tuesday 1:30pm to 5:00pm
  • Wednesday 9:00am to 12:00pm
  • Thursday 8:00am to 11:00am, 2:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Friday 9:00am to 12:00pm, 1:30pm to 5:00pm


    After Hours Arrangements:

    On call coverage for the Family Practice is provided through PH. 905 648112 For Travel Medicine special arrangements are made as needed.

    Clinic Specialities:

    The Ancaster Travel Clinic provides pre travel counseling and immunization to people planning international travel.

    The Clinic is a Health Canada Yellow Fever designated Site. Post travel assessment is also provided with appropriate referral to speciality colleagues as indicated. In order to provide the most current information we access the International Society of Travel Medicine Bulletin Board, the Center for Disease Control in the USA, the World Health Organization and the Laboratory for Disease Control in Ottawa as well as other web sites and E-mail sources.

    Unfortunately the clinic can not provide telephone advice. Instead travelers should book appointments, ideally at least one month pre travel, but last minute travelers will be accommodated.

    Fee Schedule:

    As of July 1st 1998 pre travel consultations are no longer covered by OHIP.

    Consultation Fees:

    Single Person $35.00
    Return Consultation $20.00
    Couples $50.00
    Families $75.00
    Groups (More than four people) $100.00

    Vaccine Costs Other than Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella ,the cost of all other vaccines will be billed to the traveler.
