Location:

Located near the City centre in Innes Street, which is close to the large KMART Shopping Centre. Next to Leisure Living Furniture Shop. Rose Cottage Medical Centre is located in an historic Federation Cottage, which has been extensively renovated into a modern, purpose built medical practice.

Dr. Victoria Taylor B.Med.Sc.,M.B.,B.S.,Dip. Obs.

Dr Victoria Taylor, principal of Rose Cottage medical centre, graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1979.

She then travelled to New Guinea working with a mobile medical team, treating various types of tropical conditions including malaria, TB, syphilis and tropical ulcers.

Other travels and living abroad includes countries such as New Zealand, Fiji, Canada, USA, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Poland, Finland, Germany, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Personal experience of these countries has given great insight to the requirements of travel, the potential illnesses and accidents, and the precautions and medical treatment that can prevent many of these problems.


Dr. Richard Pearson DRACOG, DCH, DTM&H;, DA, FRACGP, FACPRM, MA.

Dr. Richard Pearson graduated from Cambridge University and Westminster Medical School in the U.K. He has been practicing medicine since 1985, working mainly in Australia since 1987 but also in other countries about the world.

He has a particular interest in tropical and travel medicine, and trained at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, gaining a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in 1995. He himself has a passion for travel and has travelled extensively through the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the pacific.


His other medical experience is broad with several years of training for rural and remote medical practice. This has included the following:

  • 2 years of training in obstetrics and gynaecology, gaining a Diploma of Obstetrics in 1998 and the DRACOG in 1996.

  • Over a year of training in hospital and community paediatrics and in neonatology gaining the Diploma in Child Health in 1989.

  • 3 years of Anaesthetic training, gaining the Diploma in Anaesthetics in 1995.

  • 2 years training in Internal Medicine.

  • Training in General Practice, orthopaedic and general surgery and extensive experience in emergency medicine and Aboriginal Health.


  • HE gained membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1990 and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1993.

    Using these skills he has provided medical services to remote areas of the Commonwealth, and was awarded Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine in 1998.

    Registered Nurses: Kristine Tuff R.N. B.N.

    Registered Nurse Kristine Tuff completed three years of general nurse training at the Launceston General Hospital in 1987. Kristine then worked in many different areas, including surgical, medical, oncology, emergency, community and remote area nursing working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in far north Queensland.

    In 1994 she completed a Batchelor of Nursing Degree at the University of Tasmania.

    Kristine has travelled around the world, visiting countries such as Mexico, the Americas, U.K. Hongkong, China, Europe, Canada and extensively throughout Australia. She maintains a keen interest in travel.
